The Greeley Company introduces Credence, new turnkey outsourcing solution for hospital medical staff

The Greeley Company, a provider of professional services to hospitals and health systems, today announced the launch of Credence, a new service that allows hospitals to outsource all elements of their medical staff services department operations.
The service was created in response to input from hospital executives who have grown increasingly concerned that the workload and service levels of medical staff services departments frequently have a direct effect on revenues, cost, quality, compliance and physician satisfaction. Credence offers those hospitals an alternative strategy for medical staff services department functions that can increase operational efficiency, accelerate revenue by more quickly integrating physicians into their organizations, reduce risk of compliance errors and improve physician satisfaction with the way they're treated as professionals.
"Historically, the only way for hospitals to achieve benchmark performance in medical staff services departments was to recruit and retain the best professionals available, implement 'best practice' processes and then control the staff workload," said Tuck Crocker, executive vice president and general manager of The Greeley Company. "Our research demonstrates that outsourcing the medical staff function can be an effective strategy for cost-conscious hospitals and health systems, especially as hospitals increase their employment of new physicians and struggle to keep pace with new services and technology that impact clinical privileges. Greeley has been a provider of services to medical staff services professionals (MSPs) for many years, so our new outsourcing service is a natural extension of that role in the industry."
The Greeley Company was founded in 1993 to serve hospitals and their associated medical staffs and has been a division of HCPro since 2001.
A turnkey outsourcing solution, Credence includes:
Design and management of the practitioner privileging process;
Maintenance of the practitioner database in accordance with regulatory requirements;
Provider enrollment, application management and verification services;
Quality and compliance management; and
Medical staff organization administrative support, such as committee management, maintenance of governance documents, and financial management of application fees and dues.
"Credence enables a hospital or health system to entrust its crucial medical staff services department functions to a specialized, knowledgeable and efficient service provider," said Crocker. "This produces cost savings, a more efficient practitioner credentialing process and better management of risks associated with errors or omissions made by employees."
