Vital Images, Inc., a leading provider of advanced visualization and analysis solutions for healthcare providers, introduces VitreaView, a universal viewer that provides uniform access to patient imaging and is accessible through the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Health Information Exchange (HIE).

VitreaView provides a central view of patient image history, which means that image data can be received from disparate databases and then viewed through one universal viewer. This addresses physicians’ need for increased access to imaging data, standardization and improved collaboration capabilities. With VitreaView users can view DICOM and non-DICOM images, review 2D multi-modality data, access basic review tools, perform comparative reviews and do a historical search of data.

David Hilderbrand, senior director of New Business Technology at Vital Images said, We are very excited to introduce a universal viewer to our product suite. VitreaView simplifies the complexities of viewing disparate imaging data, which in turn helps improve efficiencies across a healthcare enterprise.
